The first page of anything is an art, really. First of all, you need to know what the story is going to be about to begin with.
The easiest way is probably to do a really thorough introduction of the characters. I would recommend doing this through the eyes of one character.
You can do it in medias res, in the middle of the action, and use narrative devises to go back later.
If it's a light hearted piece, you could parody intro pages themselves. That would be interesting.
It all depends on what the comic actually consists of, though.
